Loss of power..weird

Somtimes starting out in 1st, or when I first shift into 2nd the rpm's go to redline, but nothing happens...i barelly move. Then if I let off the gas for a sec and push the pedal down to the floor again it accelerates normal. I have no idea what could be the problem here?

if you have an automatic, it sounds like it's slipping.
make sure the fluid level is correct and check if it smells burnt.

does the clutch feel week? have you head any rattling? when the clutch pedal is depresed, does it go down fast, is there any pressure behind it?

heres the two things that immediately come to my head; pressure plate, slave cylinder

after that id go to clucth, master cylinder, and making sure your system is properly bled.

have you ever bleed the system, if not, try that, make sure to use the right spec. for fluid, you could have an air bubble in your line which would cause the system to feel week, and every now and again slip. when you have tis slip, is there any chatter around the trans. area or vibrations in the pedal?

No vibrations or chattering noises. I'll try to bleed it one of these weekends when I have the time and money to buy fluids

There is nothing to bleed. L's have completely mechanical clutches. No cylinders or fluids of any sort.

And it sounds a lot like your clutch is slipping. Good news is, it can be adjusted (if it still has any life left in it). Take it to a local shop and if it can be adjusted, they'll do it for you in 5 minutes and probably wont charge you more than 5-10 dollars.
