EXCEDY Clutch/ACT Street Light FW Review

I just got back from www.worldoneperformance.com where i got my new excedy organic OE replacement clutch and ACT Street Light Flywheel installed.

First Impression..

Well my old clutch was shot.. 10,000 miles of Stage 2.5 Power (VF-34) and 50,000 miles total it was slipping in each gear and i was lucky if i hit .6 bar without it slipping.

As i got in the car and pushed the clutch in in the parking lot i noticed it felt a little different.. went to the floor smoother.. As i put it in reverse and started to let out the clutch.. oh wait! it had already engaged.. as i had though the friction point has changed.. jerking me a little.. but not to bad..

Gettin on the freeway felt good.. all the power was solid and shifting at around 3,500 from 1 to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd, the car really felt like it wanted to go as the clutch came back out.

The flywheel was great.. seems like it revs a little faster.. nothing to special.. but you can tell, the rpms do fall faster from 3000 rpms and below for sure though.

After having the clutch in for over a week.. its still nice to drive and i have gotten used to it.. i cant believe i was driving the car with the condition my old clutch was in.

If any of you need a good replacement clutch and flywheel i would strongly encourage this setup.. which can be purchased from Garrett @ W1 www.worldoneperformance.com

Of course once i purchase and install my PPG gears sometime in 07 i will go with a little stiffer clutch.. but for those of you WRX owners (specially 02) i would have to say this is a good SAFE setup.

I had World One Install it this time. I helped my friend do a clutch install on his 02 last April... After that i decided that i would just pay the money to have it done... didnt feel like wrenching for two days straight when it was time for the replacement. It isnt a hard install really.. just lots of things you have to do.. and what not.. with the right instructions its very doable, oh yes and a lift..

Laying on your back trying to drop the tranny sucks

All together for the clutch, flywheel and install it was 1000$ plus tax.. not to bad.

I'm definitely going to look into this when THAT time comes. Hopefully not soon because although the price is good I can't afford it right now. :) lol

The only "downside" of this set up is the noise in certain gears at certain rpms... 3rd at 3500 in particular... a little rattle.. nothing that is bad or too loud.. but definantly there!
