changing a rod on 2000 wrx.

my friend has bent one of his rods. is it possibe to pull one rod off and replace it with a new one without pulling the engine. i asked this because it's a boxer engine. i think it's possible but it dosen't hurt to aske. is ther any good website i can reach that sells stock rods and bearings and gasked for a good price.
