What are your winterization plans to maintain your beast? The thought of all that crap from the road kind of makes me cringe, but at least they don't use rock salt anymore. Do you guys use any kind of a treatment prior to winter months along with all the standard methods of winterization, or do you drive a beater during the winter?

We've got a beater for the winter and for anything else that would put stress on the car. Once we got our new car it was just such a shame to sell it for $1,000 when there was simply nothing wrong with it. We're putting it to good use this way.

Yeah we have a 4-runner that we drive whenever the roads suck, which in Indiana is from November to February.

winter in jersey doesn't suck until it snows really hard. then the roads get really crappy and i try and drive my dad's car as much as possible, but if not im just really carefull w/ the roadplatforms and try to avoid big chunks of ice and snow as i can.
