so i decided to ditch my Cobb AP for something with more advanced features. I went osECU. all the programs are open source and free all you have to do is by a cable and the init. connector (subaru) if you dont already have one.
the progams involved require a little bit more understanding of engine managment/tuning than the AP which is basically plug and play
I flashed my car to Stage 1 and WOW it is a MUCH better improvement than the COBB AP. boost kicks in way earlier and it TRULY smooths out the powerband making daily driveability and stop and go traffic a breeze. i noticed the power improvement right away and i have yet to drive it enough to let the advance multipler set itself to max.
im not knocking the AP ..COBB makes a great product and i understand that thier OTS maps that come with it are a very conservative tune that ensures compatability will all cars and is super safe. but the amount it costs for the Streettuner software+ AP is a price im not willing to pay for some fun with tuning.
i will be writing a FAQ in the next comming weeks about osECU and all its programs plus a step-by-step instructions on how to flash your subarus ecu (2002+wrx)
osECU also supports Subaru, Mitsubishi and a few other car makes.
