View Full Version : my day of engine tear down (56k no way)

so i started today by pulling the tranny:

then when i pulled the clutch off i found this;

i know the pic is awefull but then again so is this camera, there is less than 1mm left on the clutch.
heres my parts table:

my crank^ thats what caused all my problems, she'll be getting sent out to be cut soon.

ROFL..... Funny.

Looks like you got the clutch out at the right time! ;) What clutch you throwing back in? Is yours a forged crank or cast iron???

it has to be cast.it's 2 bolt block. don't forget to gris the shaft before puting the clutch back.what was wrong with the crank anyway?

its cast, and it spun the #1 and # 6 bearings in the matter of 60 miles

I know it's a 2-bolt main. My question was whether he will be using a forged or stock crank. You should throw a forged crank in while it's down.

maybe some thing is wrong with crank.

yea it was out of round thats why i took the engine apart in the first place, its allo better now, just waiting on new parts now...
