So I fucked up my engine pretty bad today... Looking for a new one now.. Unfortunatly I can only spend about 1200-1300 on a new engine..

I know the 2.5RS engine is a direct drop in and is plug and play and is in my price range. There would be a noticable difference in power also.

For my price range is this my only real option? Also it is my DD so it needs to get done ASAP.. Where can I get a 2.5RS engine besides ebay also?? Most places just have the WRX/STi

The engine isn't too bad. The wiring is the bitch. I wouldn't know how to do it though. Only swap I've ever done is a SR20DET into a Corolla GTS. Sadly I lost the car in a very nasty break up. Bitch took the car and $3,000.00 worth of foreign dvds! Least I got the nookie. Not sure if it was an even trade.

Im buying my engine on Wed. Its just a EJ25 out of a 01 RS w/58k

Its a direct swap I can keep my 2.2 ECu and harness.

I got everything disconnected today except the 2 bottom mounts and I will pull the engine this coming weekend when I can rent a hoist. Ive never tooken an engine completely out of a car, but its only taken me and 1 friend about 1.5 hours to get this far, should install in 1 day when the engine comes atleast :)

Not having a hoist is killin me...all bolts and wires are disconnected.. its just sitting in there..

Clutch and headers are coming on monday, and the engine is getting shipped out on monday. So HOPEFULY it will be here by next weekend and I can get her in

So I put in about 8 hours on the swap yesterday..im like 2 hours away from being done... It still amazes me how simple this swap is...

I never took any pics of the process, but I'll show some completed ones later..if it starts..haha

Yeah, I finished the swap in like 1 1/2 days.. It was really easy.

But then we tried to start it and it would just die, so after testing like everything we found out that the MAF was bad, so I'm just waiting for my new MAF to come in. Then I'll post some pics up :)
