So Im not really trusting the new EPA fuel economy testing.
Its seems way too off for me. Testing with A/C on, I dont use it that often.

My Legacy is rated for 21 and 27. I get 22 and 30 and if Im lucky I get about 32 highway. My bro's gf has a Prius and she says she actually gets better than the EPA estimates for her '05.

My mom just got an RX400h and she believe that the estimates are right thus far for her car that has just completed the break in period. However, she does agree that at speeds above 55 mph the mileage goes down to 24 mpg. She said at 48 mph she gets about 30 mpg, without A/C of course.

Im not sure what to believe other than that maybe your own expirience, and of course the way you drive is your only true guide. But I think its frustrating seeing the cars like the RX350 that was rated 18/24 go down to 17/22 without any changes other than the way that theyre tested. My mom had an RX300 prior and it was rated for 18/22 and thats what it got. I can't say that the previous EPA estimates had ever led me wrong other than my own car being rated as less fuel efficient than it actually is.

those EPA testings are results from IDEAL conditions so the Highway ratings are at 55-65mph. i read that somewhere in a article.
