I have a brake rotor that has a rock chip on the sweeping surface. Is this something I should be really concerned about, or will I be alright?

depending on how big it is...you may have to replace it...but...its another reason to get some new rotors!

But I don't want new rotors. :fear: I think the stockers are adequate enough for the type of driving I do.
I also just upgraded to Hawk HPS pads, which squeal like Hell, by the way. :brick:
Everything with the pads looks alright, so I guess they're just noisy pads.

did you grease up the back of the pads with that anti-squeal stuff when installed them?
that grease stuff creates a damper between the pad and the caliper that stops most noise.

I had a shop do it and I brought it back to them. They said the shims were already on the pads, and they did use the anti-squeal.

Yeah, a lot of people are running these pads with no noise, so that's what bugs me. I dunno, man. :noidea:
