Is there any turbo kits out there for the RS besides the one off of turbokits.com? Its discontinued and looked like crap.

Just wondering if somone could point me in the right direction

most people dont really boost an N/A car because of the hassle, youll need a good tune, and all the supporting mods

if you want a boosted GC8 similar to the Ver.5 STi in japan

do a complete swap. it may be more but youll be happier in the long run. plus youll turn a few heads!

I have a 01 RS tuned with a VF39 Turbo which is the identical turbo peice on the STI's. I'm lovin the power and you actually feel more out of it with the lighter weight. But you cant forget about the Engine management n' all. Though RS motors dont like turbos....it can be done.

So what type of manifold did you use IMPrezaMAK? ANything else you used off of an STi or WRX besides the turbo?

I have a friend with a 99RS that 1st did the Ludespeed kit, then blew it up (kinda). Then did a full rebuild and tons of nice stuff, for around 450awhp. Only thing from an STI he used was a new shortblock, and bolted everything else up plus many more upgrades. T3/T4 turbo, link plus ecu, etc etc

i would personaly reccomend just doing the swap myself as i have seen a few RS-T's run alright times.. but a motor that was meant for boost.. been boosted time and time again and proved itself reliable is always nice too...

If you are much into custom fab.. you can use a WRX stock turbo with a different actjuator spring, either one from a GL turbo or a turbo legacy with i believe will run 5 to 8 psi.. of couse you could just not change it and run i think 10 psi.. but it all depends on how much you want to push your motor..

I'd go to rallitks website and check out to AVO kit. It's suppose to be pretty good. But really the best way to go would be dropping a wrx engine in your car. you'll get pretty similar results and you haven't topped your cars power potential out, where as if you turbo your RS, you can't really do much more powerwise. if you do a wrx swap, you will still have a ton of potential left over.. good luck though.

How much could I get everything for a WRX Swap? I would be doing the install myself. Any good websites to buy from? How are the ebay engine swap sellers?

well id say for a decent swap would be anywhere from 1500 -3000 if your doing all the work by yourself, but the wiring harness is a pain in the a$$ to do so if your comfortable with doing wireing it'll be less expensive other wise i'd look into sending it to east coast swappers or garage tuning. i'm not really sure on wheres good to buy, i dunno if ECS or GT has some laying around, but i'd check the classifieds on Nasioc and rs25. you can find some decent stuff there, another good place to check is online car auctions i've heard you can find front clips and totaled wrxs with the engine in still working order for around $3000. as far as ebay goes, i wouldn't but maybe some other people have had some good experiences with it..

So you can get a pre mad harness?

you can send your harness to some where like www.garagetuning.com or www.eastcoastswappers.com for 800-975$... takes away A LOT OF THE WORK!

all together for parts you are looking at like 3000-5000$ depending on if you go with a jdm motor... a newer USDM WRX motor etc etc

Cool, thanks guys for letting me know what is better! Ive got about $1500 saved up so far. I figured I could make a custom kit for that, but I'll just keep on saving for a swap

You won't really get a straight answer for swapstar. There are many mixed reviews about moose and his company.
